Rubber Analysis

Analysis Stages

The rubber analysis can determine the content & type of polymer, oil, carbon black ash.

1. Rubber samples are extracted using acetone for 24 hrs
(refer ASTM D297)

2. Extracted sample is pyrolysed in a tube furnace under a nitrogen atmosphere. The pyrolysate is collected.

3. The pyrolysate is examined by FTIR for polymer identification.
(refer ASTM D3677)

4. The rubber residue is ashed in a muffle at 550 oC
