Koppers Officially Launch New Unloading Service - 18th March, 2009 Port Macquarie, NSW With the dedicated support and commitment of our transport logistics partner, Herb Blanchard Haulage, Koppers launched a new pole delivery and unloading service for Country Energy in Port Macquarie, Wednesday 18th March. The new service was conceived and included as part of our tender submission to Country Energy in 2008, and since being awarded the pole supply contract the new truck mounted crane has been used on five or so trial deliveries across the Country Energy network in New South Wales. The new service will provide our customers with a consistent and safe pole unloading procedure which does not involve any active participation from customer personnel. The procedure for unloading includes requirements for our customer's staff to adhere to an 'exclusion zone' of the unloading operations around the truck, vastly improving the safety aspect for this process.
One of the other benefits of Koppers new truck mounted crane unloading service is less exposure to external crane hire services - less delays on arrival, and less hire costs. All of our operators are trained and certified in crane operation, and the truck is self sufficient on arrival to safely unload the poles onto our customer's pole storage skids or to any accessible location at project site.
HBH have a second truck due on the road shortly allowing us to offer this service to a wider customer base out of our Grafton plant, NSW. This service is also available from our plants in Takura, Queensland and in Longford, Tasmania where this has been available for a number of years.
Pole unloading can be difficult, and in many cases if not managed correctly with the right gear, can be very dangerous. For more information about this service contact Koppers and read more.
